NSSTA 2020 PRESENTER
Eric Vaughn joined NSSTA as Director of Government Affairs in 2001 and has previously served on the White House Domestic Policy Council and the National Security Council. He also served in senior policy positions with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
He has been a guest lecture for the Certified Structured Settlement Consultant Program held annually at the University of Notre Dame, as well as speaking engagements across the country. His discussions focus on special tax rules the U.S. Congress has adopted over the past 20 years to encourage the use and protect structured settlements, such as the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 and the Victims of Terrorism Tax Relief Act of 2001.
He is highly regarded for his knowledge regarding financial and economic standards for structured settlement brokers and financial advisors who negotiate and fund structured settlements of tort and workers’ compensation claims involving persons with serious physical injuries. The National Structured Settlements Trade Association is dedicated to education and legislation for catastrophically injured claimants and their families.
