John Arendt is a Vice President with the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies. He joined Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity Company in Omaha, Nebraska in 1991 and has worked with their structured settlement product since 1994. While he continues to have duties as a property & casualty reinsurance underwriter, he is happy to spend most of his time as the product manager for Berkshire Hathaway’s structured settlement products. John lives and works in Stamford, Connecticut.
Len Blonder’s structured settlement experience dates back to the inception of the structured settlements industry in 1978. Len is well known and respected as one of the leaders in the industry, having worked on over 10,000 cases, settling for billions of dollars. He has been active in the structured settlements industry from a national perspective, championing the cause to protect the tax-free nature of structured settlement payments when they were specifically targeted during the tax reform efforts of 1984 and 1985.
Susan Bowersox, CSSC, ChFC ®
Susan started her career in structured settlements in 2000. Susan has extensive experience working with all parties involved in the settlement process. She focuses on creating meaningful settlement plans for claimants and their families which address their specific needs and concerns. Susan has experience with multiple types of cases, including medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and Medicare Set- Asides, sexual molestation, deferred attorneys’ fees, employment litigation, wrongful imprisonment cases, and installment business sales. She enjoys creating and presenting CLE courses for law firms and trial lawyers associations.
Vice President of Relationship Management and Market Development- Prudential
Michelle Caine is the vice president of relationship management and market development for Prudential Structured Settlements. In this role, she heads the relationship management team and is responsible for identifying and developing innovative methods for increasing the awareness and usage of structured settlement annuities.

Christi L. Fried
Christi Fried is the President of Continental Trust Services, LLC which serves the needs of physically injured clients nationwide. Her team focuses their efforts on special needs trusts, minors, laddered bond portfolios, and increasing the quality of life after settlement. Her career began in 1993 serving various positions in the life insurance markets from pricing analyst to account manager, marketing director to product management.
Michael is the managing partner of NFP Structured Settlements (NYSE: NFP). He has been active in the insurance industry since 1991. His background includes experience as a marketing intern with Northwestern Mutual, and he has worked in the legal department of Prudential Life Insurance Company. In addition, Michael has experience in estate planning and tort law with the firm of Rutherford, Mulhall & Wargo in Boca Raton, Florida.
Dr. Lawrence O. Gostin
Lawrence O. Gostin is University Professor, Georgetown University’s highest academic rank, and Founding O’Neill Chair in Global Health Law. He directs the World Health Organization Center on National and Global Health Law. Gostin is Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University and Professor of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
Sally Greenberg joined the National Consumers League as Executive Director on October 1, 2007. The League’s focus is on five key priority areas: fraud, child labor, LifeSmarts, health care, especially the safe use of medications and medication adherence, and food safety and nutrition. Sally has testified numerous times before Congress on consumer protection issues, including on product safety, fraud, excessive fees on car rentals, consumer rip-offs in calling cards and in support of protections for farmworker children. Sally is our primary spokesperson on a variety of issues.
Stephen represents insurers and other corporate clients in a range of commercial disputes, including putative class actions, tortious interference, breach of contract, Uniform Commercial Code, and technology issues. He represents more insurers in structured settlement litigation throughout the nation than any other attorney in the country. He has also acted as counsel for insurers in appellate matters, including representation of trade associations as amicus curiae. He advises insurers on payment obligations and liability issues arising out of the administration of annuities and also represents insurance companies in cases involving the sale of life insurance policies in the secondary market.
Mari Hioki is vice president, Structured Settlements for MetLife. MetLife offers a variety of insurance solutions in this market, which involves the settlement of personal injury lawsuits, mass tort settlements and other complex litigation. Structured Settlements is part of Retirement & Income Solutions, which historically has been responsible for over 20 percent of MetLife’s operating earnings.
Geoffrey E. Hunt
Geoffrey E. Hunt serves as the President and CEO of Ringler Associates, chosen unanimously by the Board of Directors, effective January 2016. His experience in finance, management and the insurance industry spans over 30 years.
Ryan joined Arcadia Settlements Group in 2018 as its Vice President of Business Development leading the Sales & Marketing team. He has been in the insurance and financial services industry for more than fifteen years, including 12 years in the structured settlements space.
Audrey is a Senior Settlement Consultant with Sage Settlement Consulting (previously Millennium Settlements). She began her career in the structured settlement industry in 2003 with The James Street Group.
Mr. Kissel began his career at Pacific Life in 2006 as Manager of the structured settlement department in the Investment Management Division. He was responsible for the product management for all internal functions of the structured settlement product.

Jeffrey B. Klugerman is an experienced settlement consultant specializing in structured settlements and settlement planning issues with 25 years of experience. Kathy Martin’s professional career in insurance began in 2000 when she was part of an asbestos litigation team. She joined the Environmental Claim Department of AIG in 2006 and worked on a number of high profile environmental claims utilizing structured settlements. She joined the AIG Structured Settlements Department in 2010.
Louis Masry is a Principal and Senior Settlement Consultant at Quest Settlements, an affiliate of Sage Settlement Consulting. Colin Finn is a Consultant in Alliant/Mesirow’s Structured Settlements Practice in Chicago.
